Benedetta Isabella Lino was born in Palermo, Sicily. She emigrated to the United States in 1966. She attended Our Lady of The Angels grammar school and Immaculata High School, both schools located in Chicago, Illinois. In 1982 she married the love of her life, Gaetano. They have two children: Laura and Barbara.
